News & Updates

6/17/2008

Hey Folks,

Just a quick update of what's going on.

Filmmakers have decided to use the three of my songs for their film, American Outsiders: The Legendary Norbert Kox. The film is based on the life and art of Norbert Kox, an artist who went from being an infamous 1960's outlaw biker to a world renowned apocalyptic artist.

"Tell Me What You See," "Where To From Here, & "Here I Am" will be used. I'll keep you posted on developments. Needless to say, I'm quite pleased.

Also have a few excellent shows happening this summer. Please check out myspace.com/barryholdship for updates.

As always, treat each other the way you want to be treated.

Peace,

Barry

Hey Folks,

Received quite a few messages regarding not updating news enough. Wanted to let you know I just returned from Santa Fe, NM where I recorded some new tracks with my old friend and L-TAG bassist, Dave Katz. Great studio. I'll be downloading tracks at myspace.com/barryholdship in a couple of days.

Meanwhile, hope you're all well and doing fine.

Hey Everyone,

Although I check in here occasionally, it's always best to check for latest updates at myspace.com/barryholdship. I find myself keep things better organized over there.

I'll continue to update here, but myspace is the BEST alternative.

Hope all is well with you.

Peace,

Barry

Sad Eyes Free Download:

Hey Folks,

After several attempts to get the Canadian version of Cover Me: A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen (Bullseye Records) released, it seems due to circumstances beyond their control, it won't be seeing the light of day.

This is very disappointing news. Bullseye's President, Jaimie Vernon, put together quite a stellar group of performers and tracks. Your's truly among them. I guess there was some conflict with the US version of the two-CD Light Of Day: A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen, which was originally released in 2003 by Schoolhouse Records. I'm sure it had to do with competition. Hell, I think it would have helped re-energize the whole project. Sales of the CD were to be split evenly between the Parkinson's Disease Foundation and the Kristen Ann Carr Fund which fights Sarcoma, a rare cancer. Great causes indeed.

Needless to say I'm very disappointed. Anyway, my version of "Sad Eyes" is up from your listening pleasure and download at myspace.com/barryholdship. Let me know what you think.

Peace,

Barry

Guess Who?

A friend gave me this drawing at one of our recent gigs. Thought it captured the spirit of the band pretty well.

Thanks to all who attended the Cinema earlier this month. Also for all the kind comments about Steve & me at the Paul Fest/webcast. Working on new tunes as I write this.

"When The Bomb Falls Baby, I Wanna Be With You."

Peace,

Barry

"The Autumn leaves..."

Hey Folks!

Hope you enjoyed your Summer. We did a lot that I wanted to quickly fill you in on.

We finished our recording of "It's Up To You" for the 2007 release of the Rick Nelson Tribute. The track sounds great and we're very pleased. Also waiting to hear if & when the Springsteen Tribute will be released. Guess there's some licensing issues that need to be taken care of. If it doesn't see the light of day, I'll put my tune up on myspace/com/barryholdship.

Played quite a few gigs this summer and made a lot of new fans. In particular was the Buffalo Springfield show we did Aug 14th at the Mint in LA. Great attendance and performances. Andy just kicked ass on guitar and John really helped to keep things locked solid, since we had a guest bassist that evening. Mike Simmons from Sparklejets UK sat in. Our set included: Burned, I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better, Sit Down I Think I Love You & Like A Hurricane. Great fun. I have a live recording of our set which I may post eventually.

We finished up the season with an outdoor show in Garden Grove. Great audience and once again the band played wonderfully. Made a lot new friends and sold a lot of CD's, which is always great.

As always, thanks for checking in and I'll keep you posted on upcoming events.

Best,

Barry
